#Contests

#Fair-play rules

To keep contests fair:

  • Do not communicate with another person during the contest.
  • Do not use notes, chats, forums, or other prepared resources specific to the contest modules.
  • You may use public internet resources unless the briefing says otherwise.
  • You may use publicly available generative AI tools. Do not use paid access to a particular AI model or service.
  • Judges may prohibit tools or resources that create an unfair advantage.

A violation may disqualify a module score or your entire contest entry.

#While you work

Treat each module like a customer system: solve the assigned problem without creating a new one.

  • Do not change user passwords.
  • Do not install or run Windows Update. If Windows is stuck waiting for updates, use a hard power-off.
  • Leave OpenSSH, QEMU Guest Agent, and Red Hat VirtIO drivers running. They support the platform and are not part of the task.
  • Tell a proctor about unexpected behavior as soon as you see it.
  • Work deliberately. Scans and OS reinstalls will not solve these modules.

#A quick reminder

These scenarios are intentionally challenging, and partial credit is available. Read the briefing, prioritize the highest-value work, and use the time you have well. The situations are based on real support work: research, reason from the evidence, and look for the root cause.
